Rural institute for Community Education – Mathagondapalli Model School (RICE-MMS) is a residential school affiliated with CBSE and caters for the children from all sections of society including the children from the underprivileged strata of four southern states. The underprivileged children are sponsored by a Netherlands based organisation, Terre des Hommes which meets the full cost of such children and for the rest the parents/guardians meet the cost of education, food and accommodation. The whole school environment and the activities are designed to help the children to bring out their optimum potential.
RICE-MMS, as abode of knowledge and virtue, at the very formative period, has successfully responded to many challenges in the field of education. The school believes that every child has a treasure within. Hence, the work is to stimulate and facilitate intellectual, physical, lingual, social and emotional developments of every child. The school facilitates the learning process by integrating the subjects, which results in sustained learning and application in real life situations.
The school is also a laboratory to experiment and develop new trends and innovative methods in teaching and learning in the field of education. Over 10 years, the school has developed five curriculum approaches, 36 teaching and learning methodologies, 9 quality concerns for the school, set standards for 8 subjects and has a comprehensive teacher development plan.
