MMS celebrated Space Week and National Space Day on August 23, 2026, alongside the wider ISRO Space Tutor Program, including a space themed colouring activity that reached students at MMS and 20 other schools and colleges. Alongside the national celebrations, MMS marks Space Day on campus each year with space quiz programs and sky observation sessions for students, led by Mr. Suresh and Ms. Subhavaghini.
Ten MMS students from Grades 4 to 10 attended ISRO's Aryabhata Golden Jubilee Celebration, exploring the space science gallery and working science models, and hearing talks from ISRO scientists including Mr. A. S. Kiran Kumar (former ISRO Chairman), Dr. T. K. Alex (Indian Space Commission), Mr. Sankaran M (Director, U R Rao Satellite Centre) and astrophysicist Ms. Annapoorni.
Students competed in the ISRO Quiz, Pick and Speak, and Science Model Making events, and brought home 3 of the 6 prizes awarded. See the full list of winners on the Achievements page.
A full day of space science at MMS, from Kindergarten to Grade 12: a seminar on India's space missions, a space quiz, and telescope sessions by day and by night, run in association with the Hosur Astronomy Club (Tamil Nadu Astronomy & Science Society) and led by Mr. Suresh and Ms. Subhavaghini.
As part of India Space Week and National Space Day 2026, MMS organised a space themed colouring activity to spread awareness of India's space achievements among children. Every class at MMS took part, and as ISRO's Registered Space Tutor, the school extended the activity beyond its own campus to 20 partner schools and colleges as well.
